... New Job ...

Sat Mar 29, 2008, 5:53 PM
I have started working as an Automotive Photographer which is going really well. It combines my love of cars, driving and photography perfectly and I get to write off equipment to tax! Yay!

Speaking of which, I have now got a Nikkor 18-200mm VR zoom lens and I'm looking at upgrading the old D70s to something newer soon.

But I also have gone the other way too, and I have started shooting film again. I brought an old fully manual Fujica S605N with four Super Takumar prime lenses in various lengths from 35mm to 200mm and it came with an adapter to fit my Nikon all for $120!

I have the first 6 rolls sitting in the fridge waiting to be developed, be interesting to see what I ended up with!

In other news, I was recently nominated for a WA Screen Award for my experimental animation - "Undertow"

Didnt win unfortunately but it is pretty cool just to be recognised in that way. I lost to a group of six directors/producers who had a crew and a budget while I worked solo and shot it on my D70s!

I'm going to push it to more film festivals this year and look at taking up the invitation to the WA Screen Academy in 2010ish

Well thats all for now, been pretty busy, only just edited some of the pics from my trip to Melbourne at the start of the year, I'm heading back there for a week at the end of April so should have some new stuff soon.
